Guild Esports close in on Dorito

Following Joseph “noly” Kidd’s departure from the squad, Guild Esports have been searching for a new addition to the team. The organization is set to settle on former FC Barcelona player van “Dorito” Ruiz Jiménez, who will link-up with his ex-teammate Cristian “crr” Fernandez following a four month hiatus from the RLCS.

Following a Shift report, noly announced his removal from the squad on the 9th April, just under two years after he signed with the team. The organization considered a number of options to replace noly, especially from within the Spanish scene. Initial contact was made with Marc “MaRc_By_8” Domingo but other avenues were later explored with Dorito becoming the leading option due to his long-time links with crr. Together, the pairing were a breakout success during the RLCS X Spring Split under the name White Demons alongside German veteran Maik “Tigreee” Hoffmann and made an appearance at the Spring Major. For RLCS 2021-22, the team parted ways with Tigreee and signed with FC Barcelona after bringing Samuel “Zamué” Cortés onboard. While the team remained competitive, they only qualified for two regional events during the Fall Split and subsequently disbanded with crr joining Guild Esports. As a result, Dorito was unable to make an appearance in the RLCS during the Winter split, failing to make it past the closed qualifiers on both Triple Trouble and Pepepitos Canyons.

This move will be a revival of a strong partnership that ultimately started to falter after RLCS X. However, with Deevo’s quality and seniority added to the mix, Guild Esports were convinced to move ahead with the project for the Spring Split.

The Guild Esports roster for the RLCS 2021-22 Spring Split is expected to consist of:
